Mrs. Jennifer Baird, Parish Administrator
Jennifer Baird began as Parish Administrator in November of 2006. At that time St. John’s did not, and to my knowledge, had never had a staff member who was responsible in any way for the finances. Before Jennifer, that responsibility fell to the Treasurer alone. When Jennifer came on board I made it clear that the financial administration of the parish should be her priority and that the rest would “get done somehow.” Well, many of you know that Jennifer still answers the phones, prepares and prints the bulletin, and basically makes sure that St. John’s is up and running every day. This position, more than any other, bears the brunt of the growth that St. John’s has experienced. The great news is that our finances have never been more organized and with our annual audit coming up, we, for the first time have a staff member who is empowered and equipped to assist in that audit, which will save us a significant amount of money. I joke with Jennifer often about how her job(s) are going. She wears many hats and wears them well. She is a full-time staff member and is currently enrolled in a Masters of Science in Accounting at University of Southern Maine. It is not surprising that she carries a 4.0 average.
In addition, Jennifer is a California native and grew up in Berkeley, California. After attending Berkeley High School, she went on to graduate from the University of California at Davis with a B.A. in International Relations. Jen moved to the East Coast after meeting her husband, a New Hampshire native who had relocated to San Francisco for a short time, and together they have lived on the Seacoast for three years. Her work experience includes Project Manager in Corporate Communications for a San Francisco-based credit card company, Resource Development Associate for the United Way of the Greater Seacoast, and now as Administrator of St. John's. She is currently obtaining her Masters of Science in Accounting from the University of Southern Maine.
