Holly Hill Fair - Get Involved!: You are cordially invited to attend the first meeting of the Holly Hill Fair Committee, Tuesday, May 27th at 6:30 pm in the Philbrick Room of Thaxter Hall. We will be assigning Table Captains, discussing the three goals of this year's fair, exchanging ideas on ways we can better achieve those goals, developing the table layout and committing to next steps. If you have any interest in the fair, please don't miss this fun meeting! Tea and snacks provided.
The Economy Shop: The shop will be closing for the summer months after Wednesday May 28th and will open again in September so you have but three weeks to claim your bargains for the summer months. As in other years we will accept donations up to the closing date but we also request that you hold all donations after the 28th until the last of August, we have very little storage space. Thank you for all the donations that we have received over the last eight months and for your continued support for THE HOUSE OF JOHN. Have a great summer, Joan & Bob Alessi, Karen and all of our helpers.
Altar Flowers: The flower memorial sign up sheet is in the narthex. Dates are available throughout the year to remember your loved ones, to celebrate and honor special occasions. Contact Ginny Edwards for any questions, 207-439-2119 or e-mail edwardsga@msn.com.
Stewardship of the Earth: Dr. John Carroll's sermon on Sunday was wonderful – very thought provoking and challenging. Carole Renselaer has a copy if you would like to read it.
To celebrate Mother's Day and Arbor Day, we are selling seedlings (8"-12") donated by Ed and Verdi Johnson. Be sure to thank them, too! We will be selling mountain ash, yellow twig dogwood, arrow-wood northern dogwood, red oak, red pine, northern white cedar and others. A. J. Dupere, Community Forester at the Urban Forestry Center in Portsmouth recommended these as appealing and hardy for this area!
Sunday, June 22 will be our BIKE/WALK/CARPOOL to church day. Start planning: start biking or walking and be sure to ask family or friends to join you – get fresh air, exercise, have fun and help the environment! Papa Wheelies will loan us a bike rack just for the event! Please take time to thank them!
Our next meeting will be Tuesday, May 13th from 9:30am-11:30am in Thaxter Hall next to the church. For more information, please call Carole Renselaer: 603-433-9903 or Judy Sabin: 603-431-2542
