$5,000 Raffle – St. John’s Church will be conducting our first raffle to enable us to FULLY FUND our mission and ministries for 2008.

With your support we can really make a difference in the lives of others. Examples of what this ticket supports: weekly Common Table meal which feeds over 100 people in our community for free every Thursday, Sunday and Thursday morning services, formation studies for our children and adults, our adult and cherub choir, mission trips to rebuild homes and lives, our great youth group, twelve step programs which utilize our facilities and Concerts on the Hill.

How it works: There are 500 tickets for sale at $100.00 each. After the 500 are gone, selling stops – so your odds are excellent. You may choose to buy a ticket alone or you may wish to buy a ticket collectively with your co-workers, your book group, or family. Feel free to send the e-mail version of the flyer (from the website) to any and all relatives and friends. Winning ticket will receive $5,000 with $3,000 going to the second place winner and $1,500 going to the third. The drawing will be held on Sunday, October 19th in Thaxter Hall at coffee hour following the 10:30 service. You need not be present to win.

So look for your raffle form in the mail, on the website or attend the Parish Picnic at Newcastle Commons for the raffle kickoff on August 24th. Remember, you have to be IN IT to win it. We thank you in advance for you willingness to help and the difference that you will be making in the lives of others in our community.

We have included a form letter for you to personalize that you can send to family, friends, and others should you wish. Please remember to include a return address envelope addressed to St. John's Episcopal Church, 101 Chapel Street, Portsmouth NH 03801.
