Stewardship Season
Annual Appeal 2024
St. John's is a church without walls. We are a Christian congregation united through our common worship, grace and prayer. We receive God's abundant gifts and accept the responsibility of Stewardship to give back of our time and treasures to further God’s work in the church, its ministries and our community.
The Rev. Rob Stevens offers some wisdom on how to evaluate your position on giving to the church, and what it means to give "enough to notice."
My father held up a bill, any denomination, and noted that this is only a piece of paper. It has almost no value in itself, and takes on value only when it is used for something. He would point to the beautiful half-moon fireplace in the corner of the living room with its andirons and grate filled with logs. You can use this piece of paper all for your own use, or you can light a fire to warm yourself and others. The choice is yours.
Brooke Bassett, member of St. John's Vestry and long time parishioner, speaks to her St. John's journey and experience, and shares with us what this community of faith means, and brings, to her and her family.
Today, the time to reflect and reset is a gift that St. John’s continues to give me. And, like many of you, I have had the good fortune of raising a family at St. John’s, and they, too, can experience this gift of peace and renewal. I will be forever grateful for the spiritual guidance St. John’s has provided for my family.

Here at St. John’s, we do not require perfect pitch or sight reading abilities to join the choir. While we are blessed with inspired musical directors and a vital, professional quintet of choral scholars, we are imperfect, and no one seems to mind. All are welcomed!

The children of our Early Elementary class have been talking about Jesus’ greatest commandment: Love God, Love Neighbor, Love Self. They have examined how these ideas are intrinsically connected and how by shining their light into the world, they can love their very best.
