Compline Choir

A Lenten Worship Opportunity for the St. John's and Seacoast Community.

"Be our light in the darkness, O Lord", and in your great mercy defend us from all perils and dangers of this night."

On the Sundays of Lent at 7:00 p.m., the men who form the St. John's Compline Choir will lead us in the ancient service of compline, or prayer at the close of day.  Compline invites you into peaceful contemplation as the men chant psalms, sing hymns, and intone prayers that prepare us for the day's end.

Children’s Choirs

The St. John's Cherub Choir consists of our youngest children: Age 4 though 2nd Grade.  Children from St. John's and the wider Seacoast region are welcome.  They learn basic musicianship skills in a fun and engaging atmosphere, by playing games, learning riddles and jingles.  The Cherub Choir sings in the Christmas Pageant, Family Christmas Eve service, and on Easter Sunday.

The St. John's Junior Choir is open to singers in grades 3 through 8 from St. John's and the greater Seacoast area.  Singers receive weekly vocal training, learn and grow musicianship skills, sing in several languages, and explore many styles of music from Taize chant to gospel, to world and and Anglican music.  They also enjoy special events:  Evensong services, Lessons and Carols, the Christmas Pageant and the Spring Musical.
