St. John’s Episcopal Church and Concerts On The Hill are proud to welcome the DaPonte String Quartet to our Mainstage, LIVE IN CONCERT at 7pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025. Admission $25 in advance online, $30 day-of online and at the door, with $15 discounted student tickets available at the door.

This inaugural Seacoast-area performance by the renowned quartet will feature Haydn’s String Quartet in D Major, Op. 20 No. 4 and Ives’s String Quartet No. 2.*

Haydn’s Quartet highlights the clarity and elegance of the classical style, while Ives’s work brings a bold and distinctly American voice. Together, the pieces offer a fascinating contrast between tradition and experimentation.

ABOUT THE QUARTET

Formed in Philadelphia in 1991, the members of the DaPonte String Quartet made the move to Maine in 1996 on a Rural Residency Grant from Chamber Music America, and they have been here ever since. Maine is where they have chosen to put down roots. In their 34 years of existence, they have played all over their home state of Maine, as well as in many other states and Europe.
