A funeral service to celebrate Andy’s life will be held at St. John's at 2:00PM on Saturday, May 24. All are welcome.

David H. “Andy” Bangs, Jr, the Ancient Navigator, jumped ship on May 14, 2025, at the age of 84. He was a sailor, a writer, an entrepreneur and the most well-read person we have ever known.

He dropped anchor in Portsmouth in the early 1970s where you may have encountered him on one of his long walks through the city, or as an active member at St. John’s Church, or dressed up as a fairy crossing guard for the Fairy House tours.
