"Persistence”
The Rev. Rob Stevens
My grandfather taught me that 90% of life is praying and showing up. May we have ears to hear the widows our time, and the courage to be persistent in the practice of love.
MUSIC
“Children of the Heavenly Father,” Swedish folk tune, arr. Paul Sjolund. Featured Communion Anthem at the 10AM Rite II Service of Holy Eucharist on Sunday, October 5, 2025. Featuring the combined Junior and Parish Choirs of St. John's, directed by Maggie O'Neill, with accompaniment from Jennifer McPherson Mulhern and additional direction from Christina DeMaio.
ROOTED IN CREATION: SJC YOUTH AT NOONEY FARM
This week marked the first of many adventures for St. John's youth as we began a new collaboration with The Kittery Land Trust to offer educational opportunities in caring for creation throughout the year.
This past Sunday, our Sunday School and Youth Groups visited Nooney Farm, a Kittery, Maine, farm preserved by the Kittery Land Trust. The children explored the fields, met the farmers, and helped save seeds that will be planted in future seasons in the “Giving Garden,” a community plot that grows nearly 2,000 pounds of fresh produce each year for local schools, food pantries, and shelters, including our own Common Table!
If you’d like to learn more about the work of Kittery Land Trust, please join Outside the Box in the Philbrick Room this Sunday, October 26, after the 10 a.m. service. A light lunch will be served.
