"God Is Not Through With Us Yet"
The Rev. David DeSalvo
This past Sunday, April 12, we welcomed St. John's Priest Associate, The Rev. David DeSalvo, to the pulpit.
MUSIC
"Easter Anthem," William Billings; featuring the St. John's Parish Choir, under the direction of Olin Johannessen, Associate Director of Music. Featured Communion Anthem at the 9:15am Rite II Service of Holy Eucharist on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026.
OUTSIDE THE BOX THIS SUNDAY
Join us for an illuminating lunch forum featuring Anna Kay Vorsteg, Executive Director of Cross Roads House, who will share her vision for supporting our community's most vulnerable populations.
After a distinguished career in social work, Anna Kay has stepped into a leadership role that resonates deeply with her lifelong commitment to compassionate service. In her first year at Cross Roads House, she is reimagining the organization's potential to make meaningful changes.
Founded in the early 1980s as an emergency shelter, Cross Roads House has evolved into a critical resource for unhoused individuals across Rockingham, Stratford, and southern York Counties. More than just a temporary refuge, the organization now serves as a comprehensive transitional home dedicated to empowering and supporting housing-insecure residents. Discover how Anna Kay's innovative leadership is transforming Cross Roads House into a beacon of hope and opportunity for those seeking stability and a path forward.
Please join us in the Philbrick Room on April 19th following the 10AM service. A light lunch of sandwiches and salad will be served.
Poetry On The Hill
Wednesday, April 22 at 7PM. Join facilitator and St. John’s parishioner Sam DeFlitch for this inaugural presentation of Poetry On The Hill, a new series here at St. John’s. We will welcome Portland-based poet and author Mike Bove to beautiful Roberts Hall where he will read excerpts from his latest poetry collection, centering themes around Nature and Creation Care as we join together in commemorating Earth Day this same day. Attendees will be treated to light refreshments, and an opportunity to participate in a guided workshop experience. Click here to reserve your free pass today!
HAVE YOU TAKEN THE ALL PARISH SURVEY?
You are invited to take part in this parish-wide effort to help shape the future of St. John’s and discern where God is calling us in the years ahead.
We are grateful for the thoughtful participation we have already received. Each response is helping to shape a clearer picture of who we are as a parish and where we are being called to grow. If you have already completed the survey, thank you for taking the time to be part of this process.
If you have not yet had the opportunity to respond, there is still time. The survey remains open until April 26 and takes about 15 minutes to complete. Your perspective is an important part of this shared effort, and we hope you will consider adding your voice.
We also encourage you to gently invite others in the St. John’s community to participate. The more voices we hear, the more faithfully we can move forward together.
Thank you for your continued prayer, engagement, and care for the life of St. John’s.
DIOCESAN UPDATE: BISHOP SEARCH UNDERWAY
The Episcopal Church of New Hampshire has reached an important milestone in the process of discerning and calling its 11th Bishop. On March 31, the Diocese released the 2026 Diocesan Profile — a document shaped by prayer, listening sessions, and voices from across the Diocese. It offers a snapshot of our shared life and will help guide the search for our next bishop.
We invite your prayers for all involved — for those discerning a call, for the Search Committee and Standing Committee, and for the whole Diocese as we listen together for the Spirit’s leading.
You are also invited to help share this opportunity. If you are connected to clergy or church leaders beyond St. John’s, consider passing along the diocesan profile. You never know where the Spirit may be stirring. The full profile, position description, and application materials are available online. Applications are due by noon on Monday, May 11.
