"Parable of the Sower"
The Rev. Rob Stevens

As followers of Jesus, our work is to spread the seeds of light and love to all. The good news is that we don’t have to worry about making them grow, for that is God’s job. So — let’s get sowing!

Vestry Member Spotlight

The Vestry is the elected lay leadership body of St. John’s, working alongside the clergy to help guide the life and ministry of the parish. Throughout the summer, The Chapel St. Chronicle will feature a different vestry member each week, giving the congregation an opportunity to get to know the people who serve in this important role through photos, stories, and a few fun facts.

Katherine Birch, St. John’s Vestry Member, at-large

Katherine BIRCH

My name is Katherine Birch and as of recently, my days are spent loving on my two-month-old and two-year-old daughters as well as keeping up with their older brother's busy summer camp schedule while attempting to squeeze in a bit of time for my sweet husband, Derek, as I am able. Most of our free time is spent as a family enjoying walks around town, watching family movies and chatting about everything from music and aviation to personal philosophies and matters of faith.

I have been attending St. John's for eight years and have loved the welcoming community and witnessing it evolve during varying family stages.

In my spare time I love to soak in the sunshine on a warm day, relax with an afternoon coffee, complete a colorful jigsaw puzzle and journal to my children. I consider myself a theme park enthusiast and love to consume content on the history and craftsmanship of various parks. I have loved this chapter of living and growing in Portsmouth and can honestly say it would not have been nearly as rich without the wonderful people we have found during our time at St. John's.
